Prime Video’s Gen V trailer teases an ultra-violent introduction to The Boys spinoff series about a superpowered college campus.
School is in session for a new generation of superpowered individuals in Prime Video’s Gen V trailer. After the monumental success of Prime Video‘s The Boys, a new crop of potential heroes and villains rule the halls of a university designed to shape the alpha and omegas of tomorrow. Like any college setting, the Godolkin University campus houses students with big dreams, each capable of taking over the world if they apply themselves. Competition to be the best in class is fierce, and only some survive the experience. The halls run red with the blood of lesser classmen, and the race to become a member of the Seven, the world’s premiere superhero team, is as deadly as they come.
“From the world of The Boys comes Gen V, which explores the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about Compound V, and that their powers were injected into them, rather than God-given,” reads the official Gen V synopsis. “These young, competitive heroes put their physical and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the school’s highly coveted top ranking. They quickly come to learn that ambition comes with sacrifice, and the difference between right and wrong is not as clear as they once believed. When the university’s dark secrets come to light, the students must come to grips with what type of heroes they are going to become.”
The cast of Gen V includes Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi. The series also features guest stars Clancy Brown and Jason Ritter and appearances from Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne, reprising their roles from The Boys.
Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters serve as showrunners and executive producers. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Craig Rosenberg, Nelson Cragg, Zak Schwartz, Erica Rosbe, and Michaela Starr also serve as executive producers on the spinoff series. Brant Englestein, Sarah Carbiener, Lisa Kussner, Gabriel Garcia, Aisha Porter-Christie, Judalina Neira, and Loreli Alanís serve as co-executive producers. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
Today’s Gen V trailer teases a savage competition between a new crop of students at Godolkin University, focusing on Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), a powerful woman able to wield blood as a deadly weapon. After being noticed by the faculty as a student to watch, Marie’s classmates (also her competition) pull her into their twisted web of competition, blackmail, and backstabbing. As the trailer continues, things take a turn for the bloody as students, bystanders, and faculty members become nothing more than viscera and giblets on the walls.
Gen V will premiere on Prime Video with three episodes on Friday, September 29, followed by weekly episodes leading up to the epic season finale on Friday, November 3.
