Scream VI: Music from the Motion Picture brings the 95 minute score to CD and vinyl

Scream VI: Music from the Motion Picture will bring the 95 minutes of score to the homes of fans in 2 CD and 2 LP sets

Scream VI (read our review HERE) will be receiving its DVD, Blu-ray, 4K UHD, and 4K steelbook release on July 11th – and after the movie is on physical media, Varèse Sarabande and Craft Recordings will be teaming up to release the 95 minutes of score Brian Tyler and Sven Faulconer composed for the film on CD and vinyl! The 2-CD version of Scream VI: Music from the Motion Picture will reach stores in September, with the 2-LP release following in December. Copies can be pre-ordered at THIS LINK.

A press release notes that the CD edition of Scream VI: Music from the Motion Picture “contains a 12-page booklet filled with cast photos from the set, while the variant cover vinyl version comes packaged in a gatefold jacket featuring original artwork from acclaimed illustrator Doaly, which depicts Ghostface’s looming presence over his newest hunting ground, New York City. Fans can also find a Varèse Sarabande Vinyl Club edition of the album (pressed on Stab Green vinyl and limited to 1,000 copies) exclusively at VareseSarabande.com and CraftRecordings.com.

The press release adds: “Following his solo work on the previous Scream installment, Brian Tyler is joined by Sven Faulconer this time, and the pair take the sonic punch of the franchise to new levels by mixing both beloved classic themes and brand-new motifs. Tyler, who ranks as one of the top ten highest-grossing film composers of all time, has scored an impressive array of projects during his illustrious career, including Fast X, The Super Mario Bros. MovieThe Final DestinationCrazy Rich AsiansYellowstoneAvengers: Age of Ultron and many more, while Faulconer gets his first big motion picture co-composer credit with Scream VI, following his work doing additional music work on Top Gun: Maverick, Aquaman, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Ad Astra, and more.”

Directed by Scream 2022 directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett from a screenplay by Scream 2022 writers James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, Scream VI shows us what happens when the four survivors of the Ghostface killings leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.

Those four survivors are the returning Scream 2022 characters played by Melissa Barrera (as Samantha Carpenter), Jenna Ortega (as Samantha’s sister Tara Carpenter), Mason Gooding (as Mindy’s brother Chad Meeks-Martin), and Jasmin Savoy Brown (as Mindy Meeks-Martin). They’re seeking to start a fresh chapter in New York City… but while the story is set in New York, the movie was filmed in Montreal.

Also in the cast are franchise regular Courteney Cox (as Gale Weathers), Scream 4 star Hayden Panettiere (as Kirby Reed), and new additions Dermot Mulroney as Detective Bailey, Samara Weaving as Laura, Tony Revolori as Jason, Liana Liberato as Quinn, Josh Segarra as Danny, Jack Champion as Ethan, Devyn Nekoda as Anika, and Henry Czerny as Dr. Stone. Neve Campbell was asked to reprise the role of franchise heroine Sidney Prescott, but opted out due to a pay dispute.

Vanderbilt produced Scream VI with Paul Neinstein and William Sherak for Project X Entertainment. Original Scream screenwriter Kevin Willamson serves as executive producer alongside Chad Villella, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad, Marianne Maddalena, and Spyglass’s Gary Barber and Peter Oillataguerre.
