The Mandalorian: Temuera Morrison says Boba Fett was supposed to return to in season 3, but nobody called him

The original bounty hunter to showcase the Mandalorian armor was planned to return, however the actor kept waiting by the phone.

With a Star Wars show that expands on the lore of the Mandalorian society, it was only natural to assume the OG in Mandalorian armor would be involved somehow. When Boba Fett showed up to once again don the armor, Disney+ knew they had to give him his own time to shine. The Mandalorian would help to generate the spin-off, The Book of Boba Fett, and saw the return of Attack of the Clones actor, Temuera Morrison, in the role spawned from Jango Fett.

With Din Djarin being integral to Boba Fett’s return, as well as the return of popular characters like Grogu, Boba Fett would also be set to revisit the show which had explored the Mandos. ComicBook.com reports that Morrison was intended to return, however, according to Morrison, “Nobody rang.” When Morrison made an appearance at the SUPANOVA Comic Con & Gaming convention in Melbourne, Australia, the New Zealander talks about his snub.

“I was supposed to be in The Mandalorian Season 3 but nobody rang me. I was waiting for the phone call in New Zealand, waiting and wanting to give up,” Morrison admitted. He had also spoken about Din Djarin notoriously stealing the spotlight in Boba Fett’s own show. “Well that Mando guy stole a few chapters of my book. It was painful watching him turn up with some black new lethal sword. And the way he turned up in my Book of Boba, he just destroyed everybody. I’m sure this guy is… ah… ruining my show. But I couldn’t say anything. I’m not the writer, so I have to bear it I guess.”

With Boba Fett’s introduction in season 2 and Djarin turning up in Book of Boba Fett, fans would hope that he would return the favor and continue the crossover with the helmeted brethren in season 3. This did not turn out to be the case. In addition, Book of Boba Fett has not announced a follow-up season. Mandalorian also has not announced a season 4 yet, but creator, Jon Favreau, had already expressed interest in returning. Time will tell. In the meantime, fan favorite, Ahsoka, is set to premiere her own series late in the summer.
