Extraction 3: Chris Hemsworth already has an idea for another sequel

Chris Hemsworth already has an idea for Extraction 3, but it all depends on how audiences respond to the first sequel.

Chris Hemsworth returns as Tyler Rake for Extraction 2, but could he already be planning a return for Extraction 3?

The actor expressed his love for the Extraction franchise while speaking with Total Film. “I love it,” Chris Hemsworth said. “I love playing the character. I love this world. I love having something else outside of Marvel that’s amassed a bit of a following, something more in the real world. I honestly feel like we made a better film than the first one. That’s rare in the franchise world. We’d be remiss not to have a crack at another one.” Hemsworth went on to tease that he already has an idea of where Extraction 3 can go. “There is so much room for this franchise to expand and places where it can go,” Hemsworth said. “I’m excited about what that next adventure for Tyler Rake could be. We’ll see how this one does. We’ll see how people feel and respond. And if the world is craving another Tyler Rake adventure, I think it’d be something I’d be interested in seeing put up on screen.’ He grins. ‘I have an idea, but I won’t give it away here…

Chris Hemsworth returns as Tyler Rake in Extraction 2, the sequel to Netflix’s blockbuster action film Extraction,” reads the official description of the upcoming sequel. “After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.” Sam Hargrave returned to direct the sequel from a script by Joe Russo.

The first trailer for Extraction 2 teased some of the brutal stunts of the film, and Hemsworth has called the project “the hardest thing I’ve ever done.” The actor continued, “I’m not exaggerating. At the end of a take, you’re sucking air like you never have before, and everyone drops to their knees. But it’s so much more rewarding. I would love to take this style and integrate it into a Marvel film, if I was ever to do another one.

Extraction 2 will debut on Netflix on June 16th. Would you be down for Extraction 3?
